Canon EF 50mm f1.8 Mark II
There are countless website talking about this particular lens, and it's "better" predecessor the Mark I, and how it compares to the faster f1.4 etc.
So far this lens was the cheapest, and I ended up liking so much the results that I upgraded to the more expensive (and faster) f1.4 version.
It is true this model is loud, and a bit plasticy, but since I am a big fan of strange and "available" light shots, for me it's just terrific.
